In a rare interview, Thornton admitted that their whirlwind romance—sealed with matching vials of blood worn around their necks—was intense but unsustainable.
“We were both very young in our own ways, and we moved at a speed that wasn’t healthy,” Thornton said. “We were in love, but we weren’t ready for a lifetime together.” He explained that their passionate connection quickly turned into emotional exhaustion, with both wanting different things as time went on.
