The phrase “Camilla erased?” has fueled speculation that her position could somehow be reduced or changed as King Charles continues to shape the modern Royal Family.
However, there is no credible evidence that Camilla has been removed, sidelined, or “erased” from the monarchy. In fact, recent reporting shows her continuing to carry out public responsibilities alongside the King.
King Charles and Queen Camilla recently began their annual summer period in Scotland, continuing a long-standing royal tradition. Reports have also highlighted their unusual but apparently successful arrangement of spending some weekends apart, with Charles at Highgrove and Camilla at her private home, Ray Mill House.
Rather than suggesting a breakdown, the arrangement has been described as one way the couple maintains independence while balancing demanding public responsibilities. Camilla's private residence also provides a relaxed setting where her children and grandchildren can spend time away from the formality of royal life.
The official Royal Family records likewise continue to recognize Charles and Camilla as the King and Queen, with the monarchy's latest annual report documenting their extensive constitutional and ceremonial work. During the 2025–26 financial year, Charles carried out hundreds of official engagements, while the King and Queen undertook state visits and hosted visiting heads of state.
